Assumption College has just completed 75 memorable years of service in the field of higher education. The sucessful journey in creating enlightened, empowered and socially committed without compromising on the highest academic standards yet upholding the noblest Christian ideals and moral values was possible only with the constant intercession of our heavenly patroness ‘Our Lady of Assumption’. A symbiotic relationship between the management, staff and students is the added strength of Assumption. The progressive evolution of Assumption College continues and we are well aware that higher education in today’s global scenario means much more than the mere acquisition of knowledge. It is the building of character, shaping of the personality, attainment of skills, as well as enabling employability and building the future leadership for a better world. Our mission is to equip our students with varied skills to make them globally competent, nurture a research culture, encourage higher education among the economically weaker sections, inculcate an awareness of the dignity of womanhood, contribute to and practice sustainable development and much more.
After attaining autonomous status in 2016, we strive to impart excellence in the quality education we provide, incorporating greater space for creativity and innovation. Reforms at every level aim to improve efficiency and relevance. Highly qualified and dedicated teaching faculty and committed support staff catalyse Assumption’s onward growth. Talented and vibrant students remain at the centre of the myriad activities of the college. The corridors of Assumption will continue to empower generations of young women, whom we believe will uphold the traditions of the College and make their mark in their chosen walks of life and at the same time become socially productive citizens.
