The Department of Physics has embarked on a groundbreaking collaboration with the esteemed Weizmann Institute in Israel to advance climate modeling and conduct research in atmospheric physics. The collaboration will witness the combined expertise of Dr. Marina Aloysius, a distinguished scientist from the Department of Physics, and Dr. Ilan Koran from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.
The collaboration aims to foster scientific exchange, facilitate knowledge-sharing, and address critical environmental challenges. Dr. Marina Aloysius, faculty at Department of Physics Assumption College, and Dr. Ilan Koran, an expert in climate modeling, will synergize their talents to gain deeper insights into climate patterns, weather systems, and the impact of human activities on the Earth's atmosphere.
In May 2023, Dr. Marina Aloysius, accompanied by her student, Ms. Ann Mary Jose, visited the esteemed Cloud Physics Group at the Department of Earth and Planetary Science, Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. During their visit, they engaged in in-depth discussions with researchers and experts at the institute, exploring various avenues of research and exchanging valuable ideas. This visit laid a solid foundation for future collaborative projects and fruitful cooperation between the two institutions. The collaboration will allow both institutions to leverage their collective expertise, resources, and facilities to address the complex challenges posed by climate change and enhance our understanding of the Earth's atmosphere.
