National Innovation and Startup Policy

The 'National Innovation and  Startup Policy (NISP) 2019' is implemented by MoE’s Innovation Cell in coordination with AICTE, UGC, state/ UT governments and universities. It is a guiding framework to envision an educational system oriented towards start ups and entrepreneurship opportunities for student and faculties. The guidelines provide ways to Indian HEIs for developing entrepreneurial agenda, managing Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) ownership, technology licensing and equity sharing in Startups or enterprises established by faculty and students. The  Assumption College Autonomous joined NISP campaign in June 2021.

Assumption College has the vision of creating enlightened, empowered and socially committed women. Towards this end, the college started the Assumption Business Incubation Centre(ABIC) in 2014. Women entrepreneurships and startups are getting momentum now. Assumption College through ABIC tries to promote the entrepreneurial acumen in students and to create an innovation and startup ecosystem in the campus.

In line with the policy and guideline mentioned in the NISP 2019 document, Assumption College has formulated its Innovation and Startup Policy to facilitate students and faculty members to carry out Innovation, Startup, IPR and Entrepreneurship related activities.

The Innovation and Startup Policy of Assumption College Autonomous is in force with effect from 06-04-2022.
