Wetland Day Observance - 2023-24

Date: February 02, 2024

WETLAND DAY OBSERVANCE

The Wetland Day Observance on 2nd February 2024 took place at the Changanassery wetland area, where our final year Zoology students (Model I & Model II) engaged in an insightful study of the wetland ecosystem. This event aimed to raise awareness about the importance and significance of wetlands, while also providing an opportunity for students to observe and learn about the diverse characteristics of wetlands. Students keenly observed the flora and fauna inhabiting the wetland area and noting the interplay between different species and their habitats. A peer student, Ms. Sruthy M., III DC Zoology Model I, delivered a comprehensive talk highlighting the types, characteristics, importance of wetlands & the significance of wetland day observance. The talk provided an overview of crucial role wetlands play in environmental sustainability, water purification, flood control, and as habitats for numerous species. This program was a resounding success.
