Guided by the moto Lighted to Enlighten, the department strives to shape students into reliable and empowered young women by educating them about the intricacies of arithmetic along with the highest Christian values and Ideals. The department with 58 years of dedicated service has ever since been in pursuit of high standard education and academic excellence. We have grown our expertise and competence in curriculum over the years. We conduct national seminars, invited lectures and workshops inviting various eminent experts in the field to develop curiosity in Mathematics among teachers and students. Along with this the department has a Library and computers for the use of the students and teachers.
The department conducts Mathematics Advancement Programme for schools every year to motivate and inculcate interest in Mathematics among Higher Secondary students. Two students in the department were participated in SAKURA Science Student Exchange Programme during October 11-21, 2019 funded by Japan Asia Science and Technology.

The Department organises training for cracking JAM by Highly Efficient faculties.
BEAM
As a part of AESOP, the II DC students give training for the school students of the adopted panchayats.
