The Department of Home Science organized an alumnae lecture on "Domains of Dietitians" on 22nd January 2024. The lecture was delivered by Ms. Chanjal Chacko, dietitian, former faculty and alumna of the Department. The resource person shared her insights and experiences on the various domains of practice for dietitians, such as clinical, food service management, community, and research. She also explained the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist, and the qualifications and skills required to become a registered dietitian. The lecture was attended by students and faculty members of the Department. Ms. Chanjal also gave some tips and advice on how to pursue a career in dietetics and the opportunities and challenges in the field. The lecture was part of the Department's initiative to invite alumnae to share their knowledge and expertise with current students and to foster a network of professionals in the field of Home Science.
