The Dept of Computer Science of Assumption College in association with Red Hat, IPSR and other Red Hat Academy colleges organized the virtual Mega Conclave on “Opportunities for Freshers in Red Hat Technologies and Cloud and Automation”, on Friday, 05 Nov 2021 at 6:00 pm via Blue Jeans platform. There were 700 participants including students from different colleges and faculties. It was a really great opportunity for the job seekers who wish to identify the promising technologies and career prospectus in those areas. The session was started by Mr. Sigin Jacob George, giving an introduction about Red Hat Academy. It was started in 1993 and had an experience of 28+ years. They provide the next generation of IT talents with free access to the full range of Red Hat’s training and certification courses. He further gave an outlook about the topic and the speakers of the webinar.Then we moved on to the crucial part of the event. The first speaker was Mr. Ramesh Padmanabhan, the director of Red Hat GLS India & SAARC. He gave an idea about Red Hat certification. He provided us a clear-cut view of how RH certification is different from another certifications.Then the session was presided over by Mr. Amal Mathai, Technical delivery manager of Red Hat GLS India. He talked about the companies around the world that paid partnership with Red Hat. He talked about the common needs and challenges by Red Hat customers. Then he specified the best options to start skilled on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ansible automation platform and OpenShift. Then the last speaker was Dr. Mendus Jacob who is the M.D & C.E.O, IPSR group Director and MCA program, Marian College, Kuttikanam. His topic was journey with Red Hat, through this he shared his experiences with Red Hat. He gave an account on success stories which made impossible things possible. He almost cleared defining DevOps, AI, Data Science, Internet of things and Crypto currency. Then he discussed some smart questions about IT. Then he explained the importance, scope and role of Linux. Then he gave a picture of all the courses, training support, RHCSA & RHCE global certifications. alumni, placement support, IPSR care, internships and benefits of Red Hat. Then they conducted a quiz program purely based on the session. There were 10 questions, and those who answered the question first got points. Then right after the quiz session they announced the winners. It was a great opportunity for us to be a part of this webinar. It explored the needs and technological things for a better career in the IT sector. The session ended at 8.10 pm.
