Assumption Digital Garden
Assumption Digital Garden is a joint venture of both Computer Science and Botany Departments to promote and cater to technological advancement to nurture and kindle care for nature and eco-friendly campus.
All trees and shrubs of the Assumption campus are tagged with QR codes so that anyone interested can scan and get botanical details about them. The Botany department has classified all botanical data of the campus and PG students of the Computer Science Department created an app to generate and scan QR codes. Water-resistant paper tags with botanical taxonomic hierarchy and QR codes are badged on each tree. The work is fully funded by the seed money provision of Assumption college. At present each QR code is a link to a pertaining Wikipedia page. Later all such details will be published on the Assumption College website and the android app will be published in Google Play Store.
