AESOP-
This year marked the beginning of Assumption Extension and Social Outreach Programme (AESOP). The progamme envisage enhancing the social commitment of students by giving them a chance to interact with the real lives of the less privileged class of people. The second DC students were selected for the programme and were assigned to conduct their activities during the four Saturdays of the month of November and december at Puzhavath. The Parish church auditorium and the church premises were chosen as the venue of the programme. The students conducted classes on various daily life, home care, health and environmental issues for the local people that would enable them to improve the quality of their lives. They also interacted with the school going students of the area and entertained them through games and activities. The students took the responsibility to provide refreshments for the participants. Also they conducted training sessions on soap, cleaning lotion and detergent manufacture. Training on star making was provided based on the demand from the participants which was received with greater interest. The exhibition of curious and artifacts made from waste materials opened a newer concept of house hold waste management to the participants.
