The Department of Botany organized the official inauguration of the Botany Association 2023 - 2024 ‘FLORA 2023’ at 11.00 am on 7th September, 2023 at Powathil Hall, Assumption College. The ceremony began with a Prayer song by III DC students followed by a Welcome speech by Dr. Reshma R S, Association-in-charge, Department of Botany. Annual report of Botany Association 2022 - 2023 was read by Ms. Jishamol Antony, Secretary, Botany Association. ‘FLORA 2023’ was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Jazir Haneef, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Botany, Government College, Nattakom, Kottayam and presided over by Rev. Dr. Thomas Joseph Parathara, Principal, Assumption College (Autonomous), Changanacherry. Ms. Gloria Maria Winnie, Head of the Department, felicitated the function. The inaugural ceremony was followed by publication of ‘HARITHA’, the manuscript of Botany Association 2022 - 2023. Thereafter Keynote address was given by the Chief Guest on the topic “For a Fabulous Future”. The inaugural ceremony was concluded by the conveyance of Vote of Thanks by Ms. Aleena P A, Joint Secretary, Botany Association. FRESHERS’ DAY celebration and cultural programmes were conducted in the afternoon session.
