White cane is an essential tool for millions of people who are visually impaired or blind to be able to travel independently and safely. For blind people, the white cane is an essential tool that gives them the ability to achieve a full and independent life. The NSS unit of Assumption College in association with Indian Association for the blind, conducted a massive fund collection drive in the college, by distrbuting the white cane stamp, during January 3-15 and collected an amount of Rs 15000/-. The cheque was handed over to the Principal Dr Thomas Joseph Parathara, on January 16th, by the NSS programme officers and the volunteers.
