The NSS unit of Assumption College conducted a programme entitled "Spreading Smiles", a visit to the school of differently abled students at Sabarmathi Special School, Haripad on 30th March 2023. Ms Varada M Nair, volunteer secretary welcomed the gathering. Shri John Thomas, Opposition leader of Alappuzha District Panchayth, inaugurated the meeting. NSS Programme Officer Ms Sherin Babu, Dr Nisha N C, School Executive Officer Mr Deepu B and School Principal Ms Sreelakshmi S offered felicitations. The volunteers performed various activities and games for the gifted children. Then a session for interaction with the gifted students was conducted. A cake cutting ceremony expressed the happiness of being with such students. An amount of Rs7000/- collected by the volunteers was handed over to the school officials. An experience sharing session by done by NSS volunteers. Ms Michel Treessa Jees expressed vote of thanks. After that, we had a lunch together with the gifted children. 23 second year NSS volunteers participated in it.
