On October 17th, 2023, the NSS volunteers of Assumption College, Changanassery were called to attend a class on spreading awareness on the topic of Gender Identity, Sexism, Women Empowerment held by Jeevani counsellor and Psychologist Miss Ansa Mary Sakariah. The seminar commenced at 1:30 pm at the Powathil Hall of Assumption College. The class was attended by a total of 96 NSS volunteers. The program was introduced by the NSS secretary Nandana E R which was followed up with the NSS Choir singing the NSS anthem. All the attendees were welcomed by the NSS secretary Saniya Saji.
The class revolved around the topic of gender equality which focused on the key topics such as gender identity, sexism and women empowerment. The session included a matter of 3 videos between the presentation each one being about topics such as gender identity from a young age, the sexism in a household and the inequalities against the transgender people in our society respectively. The session ended at 2:30 pm with the vote of thanks by Aswini V.
