As part of the national road safety week celebrations, NSS unit of Assumption College in association with traffic enforcement wing of Kerala Police conducted a traffic awareness session for the volunteers on 17th January 2023, 10.30am at Powathil hall. Mr Josephkutty N, Sub Inspector of Traffic Enforcement Wing, Changanassery Police station and Smt. Shailammal P N, Senior Civil Police Officer, were the resource persons. 60 volunteers participated in the programme.
In the afternoon session, an on-road safety awareness campaign was conducted in the Changanassery market junction, along with the police offocials. As part of the awareness campaign, the NSS volunteers distributed awareness leaflets to the drivers and to the pedestrians. Warnings and instructions were given to the persons, who violated traffic rules, and who did not wear seat belt and helmets.
