On May 7th, the NSS unit of Assumption College, Changanasserry, celebrated Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti. Rabindra Jayanti is a cultural celebration to mark the birth anniversary of one of the most celebrated litterateurs in the world named Rabindranath Tagore. He was the first non-European writer to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. The National Anthem of India is titled 'Jana Gana Mana' was originally composed in Bengali by India's first Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. NSS unit conducted the remembrance programme on May 7th at 2:30pm via Google Meet. The volunteers conducted various programmes like memorial speech, recitation, video presentations & playing of music compositions of Rabindranath Tagore. 45 volunteers participated in the event. The meeting ended at 3:30pm.
