The Snehaveedu project is hailed as one of the dream initiatives of National Service Scheme, dedicated to providing homes to families in need. The NSS unit of Assumption College proudly announces the successful completion of constructing four houses under the joint project of MGU NSS Cell and K Chittilappilly Foundation.

The key-giving ceremony for these Snehaveedu homes took place on December 7th in William Hall at Assumption College. Mr. Job Michael, the MLA of Changanassery, graced the event as the chief guest, alongside the presence of NSS Program Coordinator E. N. Sivadasan. The inauguration program commenced at 10 am with the NSS song sung by our volunteers. Rev. Dr. Thomas Joseph Parthara, our principal, delivered the welcome speech, followed by the presidential address from Rev. Dr. James Palackal, the manager of Assumption College. The program officially began with a lamp lighting ceremony led by Chief Guest Job Michael. Dr. E. N. Sivadasan, the NSS Program Coordinator of MG University gave a short talk to appreciate the efforts. The much-anticipated key-giving ceremony followed, where keys for the four Snehaveedu homes constructed by Assumption College NSS units were handed over to the respected beneficiaries (1-Chengannur, 1- Kurichi and 2 - Vettithuruthu). Felicitations were given by Sri B Jayaraj, Project Head of KCF, Dr. Susamma A P, Coordinator of KCF, and Sri G Deepak, Manager of KCF and Smt Sandra Norman, the ward member of Vazhapally Gram Panchayat.

Sri Rajeev V, one of the beneficiaries, delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of all beneficiaries. The program concluded with Miss Sherin Babu, the NSS program officer of our college, expressing gratitude. Beyond the inaugural ceremony, a visit was organized to three nearby Snehaveedu homes constructed by us, along with KCF dignitaries, providing an opportunity to witness the tangible  impact of our efforts. Walking through the homes, meeting the families, and hearing their stories reinforced the significance of our mission.
