Walking through nature, provides enjoyment, health benefits, and a lot of learning opportunities.The NSS unit of Assumption College conducted a nature walk on February 1st, 2024 to Elaveezhapoonchira. Elaveezhapoonchira means 'the pond of flowers where the leaves do not fall'. It is a tourist destination located in Melukavu village in Kottayam district near Kanjar. On Feb 1st morning, at 11.30am the NSS team reached Elaveezhapoonchira. After giving an introductory remarks on the importance of nature conservation & significance of Elaveezhapoonchira, the team started the nature walk of about 1km journey to the view point. At 2.30pm, the team returned to the Elaveezhapoonchira lake and had lunch beside it. At 3.30pm, the team started the journey back to college. 71 NSS volunteers participated in the nature walk. NSS Programme Officers Ms Sherin Babu, Dr Nisha N C and faculty Fr Eby Sebastian and Fr Rojan Purackal led the programme.
