On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created on that date in 1950. The National Voters Day celebration was chosen by the Indian government as a way to encourage the youth to participate in the vote in the electoral process.
Theme for NVD 2023 year is 'Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure'. The NSS unit of Assumption college celebrated NVD with programmes like pledge taking, discussion forum and quiz competition. Ms Rosmy George, 2nd year BSc Mathematics volunteer secured first prize in the quiz competition.
