International Day of Rural Women celebrated is celebrated on 15th October every year, to acknowledge the vital contributions of rural women to their communities and the global economy and celebrate the critical role that rural women play in agriculture, food production and rural development.
On 14th of October, as a part of International Day of Rural Women, the NSS unit of Assumption College Autonomous organized an event to honour the contributions of MGNRE workers of the Vettithururthu area. About twenty-five MGNRE workers participated in the event and they were honoured with gift packets.
