The NSS unit of Assumption College celebrated the 76th Independence Day at the College quadrangle on 15th August. The Second year NSS volunteer Miss Ann Maria Shine delivered an eloquent speech on the true meaning of independence. Volunteers also presented a patriotic song for the wonderful occasion. The day also commemorated the Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign by taking the Panch Pran pledge. The pledge was read by the NSS volunteer secretary Miss Gowrinandana and it was taken by all the volunteers present at the event. The pledge consisted of five vows to ensure personal growth and national development.
