‘Library is the heart of University’s’ work’, rightly said by the former President of India Dr.S. Radhakrishnan. Library is the heart of any educational or academic institution because it is the spring of wisdom from where all can quench their thirst of knowledge. All the academic works start form the vast amount of sources kept in the library and it is based on these sources that the work progresses. So anyone with an ardent desire for knowledge cannot but approach library to get it fulfilled. Library exists to disseminate the right information to the right user at the right time Archbishop Kavukattu Central Library was established in the year 1953. The construction of the new building was stated on 23 October 1992 with the laying of the foundation stone by Archbishop Mar Joseph Powathil the then Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry the Patron of the college. The new Library building was blessed by the Archbishop on 27 September 1994 and it was inaugurated by Mrs. Annie Prasad IAS, Member Secretary of National Commission for Women on 30 October 1994. The interior of the Library was renovated and blessed on 10 December 2021 by Mar Joseph Perumthottam.

In order to motivate the students in using the library and its services, the library has instituted the ‘Best Library User Award’ from the academic year 2011-2012. Students, as well as staff, will be selected at the end of every academic year based on the statistical data on circulation and daily use, reading aptitude of the user, utilization of library resources, and discipline.

College Library in collaboration with IQAC of the college conducted a one-day workshop on Article Writing and Publishing. Mr Jssimudheen S., UGC Librarian of St Stephen’s College Uzhavoor was the resource person of the workshop. 26 faculty members of the college participated in the workshop.

Three day workshop on Article Writing and Publishing was organized by the Archbishop Kavuakattu Central Library. It was exclusively for the students of Assumption College (Autonomous).
1-30 November 2022
Archbishop Kavuakattu Central Library and IQAC of Assumption College in collaboration with Guru Angad Dev Teaching Learning Centre (GAD-TLC), which is a centre of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching Scheme and Lore and Ed Research Associates started a National Level Faculty Development Programme – FDP (Online Mode). There were two hour sessions every day from 1st to 30th of November 2022. The FDP was attended by 263 faculty members and 215 research scholars. Thus, there was a total of 478 participants. 120 faculty and 149 research scholars (total 369) were from outside Kerala.

As a part of developing digital content Library started a programme titled Noble Lecture Series in collaboration with the media cell of the college. In this lectures will be prepared by faculty of the college on different Noble Laureates of the year and their contributions. The videos are uploaded in the college YouTube channel.

An MoU was signed between the Central Libraries of Mar Thomas College for Women, Perumbavoor and Assumption College (Autonomous), Changanassery for sharing the library resources and services.

Library organized 12 days long online workshop on Trends in Book and Journal Publishing in collaboration with Research and Postgraduate Department of Economics, Bishop Kurialacherry College for Women, Amalagiri and Lore and Ed Research Associates, Kottayam. There were 228 registered participants for the workshop.
19-25 June 2022
Archbishop Kavukattu Central Library and IQAC of the college conducted a state level author talk series in collaboration with Central Libraries and IQACs of St. Stephen's College Uzhavoor, St. Xavier's College Vaikom, Bharata Mata College Thrikkakara, Christ Nagar College Maranalloor, and VTM NSS College Dhanuvachapuram as part of the reading week celebrations of the year. Severn resource persons talked on 7 different subjects. There were 393 registered participates. Library also arranged various competitions for the students.

National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (NIPMR), Thrissur, an autonomous organization under Social Justice Department, Government of Kerala, Mahatma Gandhi University Library, Kottayam, Assumption College (Autonomous), Changanacherry, and 20 higher education institutions in Kerala jointly organize 30 days International Online Workshop on Academic Writing and Communication Skills, Research Methodology, Reference Management, and Academic Publishing. 651 people comprising of faculty, research scholars, students and academic freelancers participated in this.
6 September – 2 October 2021
An international workshop on Open Source Computing, Multimedia, and Open Access Publishing Tools was conducted by Archbishop Kavukattu Central Library in collaboration with Lore and Ed Research Associates. There was a total of 228 participants among which 61 participants were from outside Kerala, 124 Faculty, 75 Research Scholars, 8 Students and 21 others.
24 July – 31 August 2021
One month long International Online Workshop on Academic Writing and Communication, Research Methodology, Reference Management and Academic Publication was conducted by Archbishop Kavukattu Central Library in collaboration with Lore and Ed Associates. The workshop longed for 37 days. There were 22 resource persons and 325 participants from around the globe. Among the participants 160 from outside Kerala. The percipients comprised of 155 faculty, 132 PhD Scholars, 6 MPhil Scholars, 12 Post graduate students and 20 other freelance academics. There were 60 hours of lecture.
14 – 19 June 2021
Reading week was commemorated in collaboration with the Department of Malayalam and Auxilium School, Kattappana. Online talks and various competitions were organized as a part of it.

A workshop on “Reference Management and Zotero Software Tutorial (with 30 days post workshop Support)” organized by Archbishop Kavukattu Central Library in collaboration with Lore & Ed Research Associates was conducted online from 29 May2021.
21 September 2020
An online webinar on “Cyber Crime and Cyber Security” was organized by Archbishop Kavukattu Central Library and Department of Business Administration of the college. It started at 2pm and concluded at around 3.30pm on 21 September 2020. Mr Bijumon P.S., the Additional Superintent of Police, Thriuvananthapuram Rural was the resource person. It was given live on YouTube channel of the library.
