Ms Suja Mary George, Assistant Professor, Dept of Physical Education receives G V Raja Award for the Best Physical Education teacher in the State of Kerala instituted by Kerala Sports Council. MoU with National Mission on Mounments&Antiquites (NMMA) Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Inauguration of the new Mother Teresa block for the self-financing programmes. Purchases nearby land of 16.5 cents for further expansion. Rs 2crores is sanctioned from RUSA fund. College received GV Raja Award for the ‘Best College in Sports & Games' in the state of Kerala Instituted by Kerala Sports Council 2017-2018. Ms Suja Mary George, Asst Professor, Dept of Physical Education receives PEFI National award for the best Physical Education Teacher (South India) for the year 2019. Commences JAM Certificate Course, SAP International Certification Course, Certificate Course in Environmental Protection and Certificate Course in Disaster Management. The Department of Physics gets recognition as Research Centre, MG University. Renovates the main block of the College. College wins the prestigious MG University Intercollegiate Atheletics Women Championship for the year 2019-20.
Rev Sr Cherukusumam CMC is appointed Principal of the college. Rev Dr Thomas Joseph is appointed Vice - Principal and Director of Assumption Community College (APACC). Dr Anitha Jose is appointed Vice - Principal and Director of Self-financing Courses. College signed MoU with 19 industrial / educational institutions College introduced 16 Skill Aquisition and development programmes. Introduces Question Bank for conducting End Semester Examinations.
Starts “Changanacherry Civil Service Institute” for Civil Service coaching. College signs MoU with Sophia University, Japan. Dr PoulamiAich Mukherjee (Dept of History)is awarded Golden Pen Honour for her Mission in Portugal, instituted by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Commencement of SAP International Certification courses in ERP, Finance, ERP and Finance at Assumption Community College. Our alumna Jaisha O.P represented India in Rio Olympics. Winner of MalayalaManorama trophy and a cash award of Rs. 50,000/- for the best sports performing college in M G Unviersity for the academic year 2015-2016. College ranked 84th in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) by Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Rev Dr Sr Amala SH is appointed Principal and Rev Sr Cherukusumam CMC Vice - Principal of the College. Rev Sr Cherukusumam becomes the Director of Assumption Community College (APACC). College is honoured with Excellence Award for contribution to Kerala Education by Kerala Education Insider Education Conclave 2015 (DC Media DC Books). Diploma Course in Textile and Garment Designing under UGC Scheme ofCommunity College. Assumption wins the Overall and Women Championship in the college games conducted by the Kerala Sports Council. Dr Regimol C Cherian is appointed Vice-Principal of the College.
Gymnasium and Health Club launched. SmtNinamma Thomas, Head of the Department of Physical Education received ‘Best Physical Education Teacher Award’ for the Excellent Contributions in the field of Sports and Games for the year 2012-13. College receives Award for the ‘Best College in Sports & Games' in the state of Kerala Instituted by Kerala Sports Council. Assumption wins the Overall and Women Championship in the college games conducted by the Kerala Sports Council. Dr PoulamiAich Mukherjee, Department of History was honoured with the ‘Young Social Scientist Award’ by the Indian Planning Commission for the project work on “Problems and Prospects on Women’s Higher Education in Post Colonial India”. Students Business Group is formed under Assumption Business Incubation Centre. (Costume Leasing, Live Tourism, Organic Farming, Train the Trainers, Garment Manufacturing).
Rev Dr Sr Mercy Nedumpuram SABS is honoured with the Best Principal Award instituted by Catholic Federation of India. Assumption Business Incubation Centre for women at Community College started on 12 April. Assumption wins the overall Championship in the MG University Athletic Meet 2013. Edyounet Tele classroom facility started.
Students Amenity Centre is established. UGC Sponsored Women’s Hostel for PG students (Alphonsa Hostel), a wing in Vimala Hostel managed by CMC sisters is established. Renovation of Auditorium and renaming it as ‘Fr. William Memorial Hall’ - in memory of Rev Fr Thomas William CMI MA LT, the first Principal of the College. Indoor Court for Basket Ball is established. Pope John Paul II Indoor Court is established. Assumption wins the overall Championship in the MG University Athletic Meet 2012. Introduction of DTP Centre and Internet Cafe. Our Alumna Chitra K Soman participated in the Beijing Olympics 2008. Introduction of U G C Sponsored Career Oriented Add on courses in ‘Journalism and Mass Communication' and ‘Tally’. Our Alumna Olympian Chitra K Soman received the Arjuna Award for the outstanding sports person in India.

Shiksha Bharati Award’ instituted by Indian Achievers Forum, New Delhi. 2. ‘Gyan Bharati Shiksha Award’ by Global Management Council, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. 3. ‘Bharatiya Shiksha Ratan Award’ of the Economic for Health and Educational Growth, New Delhi. 4. ‘Sr Tessa Award’ instituted by Citizens of Kochi for the Best College in M G University for the year 2005-’06. 5. ‘C H Muhammed Koya Award’ instituted by C H Foundations for excellence in innovative education to APAAC 6. The Dept of History gets recognition as Research Centre, MG University. Computer General Lab - AITECH - is renamed as Captech (Cardinal Antony Padiyara Technical Institute). Golden Jubilee year for five Departments - Botany, Chemistry, Economics, Physics and Zoology.
Chitra K Soman wins silver medal at the Melbourne Common Wealth Games and Gold medal in Doha Asian Games. The College wins MG University Award for the Most Innovative Programme, Open NSS.
B A Museology & Archaeology Course (UGC sponsored) is introduced. Rev Sr Mary Kaithamattom SABS is appointed Principal of the college. Centre for Women’s Studies is established.
Networking of the Campus is undertaken. UGC sponsored Career Oriented Add-on Courses in ‘Mushroom Cultivation, Health Yoga and Interior Designing’are introduced. Our student Chitra K Soman represents India in the Athens Olympics Assumption wins the overall championship in the College Games.
College becomes the first Arts & Science College in India to introduce OPEN NSS programme. Dr I’maNeerakkal, faculty from Botany is honoured with the ‘Young Scientist Award’ by the Government of Kerala. Foundation stone for Community College is laid.(APACC). Assumption wins the overall championship in the College Games. Women Champions in the College Games conducted by Kerala Sports Council. Our students Chitra K Soman and K M Greeshma represent India in SAF Games and Afro Asian Games.
Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFT) Course (UGC sponsored) is introduced. Off-Campus Courses of M G University commence (2002-2008). P G Course in Home Science - Branch X E - Dietetics and Food Service Management (self financing) is started.
College Is approved as a Sub-centre for the Centre for Continuing Education, Kerala. Pre-Degree delinking is completed. P G courses in Computer Science and History (self financing) are introduced.
Rev Sr Geo Maria FCC is appointed Principal of the college. The College wins the prestigious R Shankar Award instituted by the Government of Kerala for the Best College in the State. Launching of Golden Jubilee Memorial All Kerala Basketball Tournament and inter-collegiate elocution Competition in English and Malayalam. Assumption Institute of Technology [AITECH] is established.
Distance Education Programme of M G University is started with B C A course. M Sc Physics, the first P G Course in the College is introduced. AASA-the Alumni Association of Assumption College is formed.

A Community Outreach Programme “Assumption Jyothis” funded by United Board of Christian Higher Education Asia, to educate 200 women belonging to the nearby colonies is undertaken.

His Excellency Rt Rev Dr James Kalacherry, the Bishop of Changanassery establishes a separate division for women in St Berchmans College to facilitate University education for the women of Kerala.
The foundation stone for the women’s wing is laid on 12 August 1949 the vision is taken up by Rt Rev Dr Mathew Kavukattu.
